Niall Meehan - making a photography business from sea swimming
Niall, who lives in Ireland and runs Sea Studio, produces limited edition prints from his early morning swims . We chat about how he has successfully created a photography business from his passion and lifelong love of the sea. Balancing his graphic design business with launching the Sea Studio and learning photography as he went, Niall's impressive images ooze authenticity and a distinctive style which is rare to see. His open attitude towards his business is refreshing as he shares some of the ways he has made his business work - from sleek web design to PR and sales. "My love of sea swimming and of image-making have become one, to the point where I don't know if I go for a swim and take photographs or go to take photographs that happen to be in the sea.
What I do know is that I am continually inspired by the challenge to put two-dimensional form on the amorphic energy of the sea"
